I went yesterday to JoAnn's to get the fabric for my curtain and bulletin board for my Dog Theme Classroom. Even in high school, I like a theme. I have to be in that room for HOURS a day, and well, I really want it to be a happy place.

I got this fabric for my bulletin board behind my desk. I'll add a black and white polka dot ribbon and a black and white paw print ribbon to make a French Memo Board look.

This is the fabric that will be my classroom curtain this year. My classroom is red, black, and turquoise. I'm pretty excited about it.

My other bulletin board will be black with a turquoise border. I still have to get the turquoise border. I will have an "instagram" section for school pictures throughout the year. The other will be something dog/pathway related. I haven't decided yet. I'm thinking....

I have to go back in two weeks--I'm going July 31st so that I can have August 1st off. Then I'll have a three day weekend before school starts. The kids will be back on August 7th. Eek!

Ummm...oops.

So life. Yeah, that gets in the way of what I want to do sometimes.

Mark and I are still clicking along. He's in school now and not working. He's got a 3.8 GPA. Go him!

We now have 3 dogs instead of one...Boris is 8; Lucy is 5; and Angus is 2. We're busy! :)

I will start my 21st year of teaching in August. How did that happen so quickly?

The saddest part of my time away is that my very best friend, my Nana, died on January 28th. Losing her has been the most difficult thing in my life. I miss her every day. Every.single. day.

Um hi. :)

I've been working on my classroom décor for next year. I had zebra and pink for last year. Yeah, I'm over that. It showed up everywhere! I'm going to nautical this year. I don't want it to be too childish, but at the same time....CUTE!

I've found though that most people think of nautical as a home décor and not a classroom one. Erg. I've ended up having to make most of the things for my classroom by myself. I've made binder covers, hall passes, etc. I'm actually loving the look of the blue, white, red, yellow, and, in my case, lime green. :)

Shopping Trips....

I've been trying to save money when I go shopping. I have become one of THOSE people you see in the grocery store with the coupon binder. I hardly buy anything without a coupon, seriously.

I do Rite-Aid trips and score big sales. I think Mark and Kerry have enough guy body wash and deodorant to last for a while, but I can't stop getting the good deals. I'd rather have a stockpile than not enough...especially when they practically pay me to take the stuff out of the store.

I went to Publix yesterday. I spent 136.00, but saved over 100.00 on stuff we WILL use. That is my rule...if it isn't something we would normally use or try I won't buy it. No need in buying junk that will just take up room when I could use that room for good stuff! :) One of the great deals that I got at Publix yesterday was 10 jars of Peter Pan peanut butter for .79 each. The other good deal...shredded Sargento cheese...2 for $4. I have $1.00 off coupons for each bag. So, I go Sargento shredded cheese for a buck a bag! Whoot! Plus, I had two .40 off coupons for additional savings on two bags. I was especially excited about that. Sad, but true. ;)

Spring Break! YES!

Finally....Spring Break! Whew!

The last week before Spring Break was ridiculous! The teachers were asked to eat lunch with the students in the common area because we had so many fights. Insanity. We typically have very few fights at our school. I don't know what was up with the kids.

Mark and I are going to the Shakespeare Tavern for my birthday. I'm SO excited! We're going to get to see Midsummer Night's Dream. Yay!
